Las Vegas Day 1

Posted by admin On July - 3 - 2007

Day one in Vegas was good.  Ended up playing quite a bit of cash poker leaving the tables ahead by a few hundred dollars.  As always should have been much more but the swings of $1/2 are quite intense and losing an all in bet to a rivered flush put a dent into my profits.  Played in the CEO Poker Tour tournament as well.  I do not know what it is about those events but I got knocked out set over set again..just like I got knocked out at the Taj.   There is always tonight.

Going to try and head over the the Rio today to check out the mayhem going on over at the WSOP.

I’m Back

Wow…it has been quite a while since I have posted.  Bridgit and I were out in Las Vegas after my last post and it was quite the trip.  I dropped the ball big time by not posting about it.  We stayed at the Venetian, which by far is one of the most impressive hotels we have been to in a long while.  Everything was first class.  While I spent approx 80% of my time in the poker room, Bridgit was able to find plenty to do at the Venetian’s spa as well as outside of the normal vegas activities.

Financially, the trip was on the plus side.  I managed to winning a bucket of cash playing cash poker (after a $1k loss in a single hand on day 2) and also placed 5th in a daily $500 tournament for a little over $4k.  Overall I was pleased with my play but still mnaged to make a major mistake in my last tournament that sent me packin early.  After being shortstacked for about 90 minutes I was dealt pocket kings 3x in a row where I managed to double up eachtime through the chip leader.

In the airport right now…waiting to leave for another Vegas trip.  Four days of business and pleasure in store.  More to come…..
